La pellicola è straordinaria ma assai scarsa di fatti storici.
Salieri is known to have died in a sanatorium and to have blamed himself for Mozart's death. The movie makes no claim to historical accuracy, it is based on a XIX century play that tells the story through the eyes of a Salieri who has gone mad. It is an artistic rendition of how Salieri might have told the story during his last days. It is known that many in Viena felt guilty for not having helped Mozart more, Salieri included.

jajaja, Esta pelicula esta basada de un "play" en el teatro. Claro Que las personas como Antonio Salieri, el emperador y otros "characters" de la pelicula existieron en vida real, pero el imagen de Salieri, y muchas de las esenas de broma, su plot de matarlo y la manera que Mozart se rei, es afuera de contexto.
